5 – Liliana

Local master chef Marvin Palomo, who’s spent time in some of Toronto’s top kitchens and also pioneered his own brand, has now opened this new restaurant of his very own on Queen West where J’s Steak Frites used to be. With a sophisticated bistro feel, the menu is grounded in a foundation of elegantly iconic dishes that include tuna crudo, beef carpaccio, pastas, seafood and steak.

4 – Bar Eugenie

Harbord Village is now home to this quaint but stunning restaurant serving unbelievable bistro fare such as lamb tartare, bone marrow, risotto, halibut and flat iron steak. Rebekah Bruce, Ronnie Fishman and Lee Bonds of Michelin-recommended Alo are behind this new place, and opening Bar Eugenie has been their latest feat.

3 – The Lunch Lady

The opening of this Toronto location of a world famous restaurant concept was bittersweet, as the remarkable woman who inspired it sadly passed away around that time. Her legacy lives on in her legendary pho that was once praised by Anthony Bourdain, as well as the other delicious Vietnamese fare served at this Ossington spot.

2 – Sammarco

This new steakhouse with an Italian twist was just opened this year by the people behind some of Toronto’s best Italian restaurants, Rob Rossi and David Minicucci, also behind Italian establishments Giulietta and Osteria Giulia. Both are recommended in the Toronto edition of the Michelin Guide.

Expect a big beefy menu of powerhouse meat and seafood dishes served in a swanky environment. In addition to that, they’re also offering a viral 100 egg fettuccine made with 24 month parmigiano reggiano and St. Brigid’s butter.

Located on College Street, this warm and cozy new restaurant with majorly stylish interior design comes to us from the same star team behind French bistro leaning restaurants Dreyfus, Taverne Bernhardt’s and Vilda’s. You might find anything from lamb chops and tortellini in brodo to grilled duck hearts and pasta on the menu.
