A distillery that’s well known around the world is having a pop-up at a Toronto market.

If you’re wishing you could jet off to Ireland this spring but can’t afford the airfare, a Jameson Whiskey pop-up might be a nice consolation. The global brand is bringing their award-winning distillery tour from Bow Street in Dublin to Toronto.

The pop-up takes place inside a set of shipping containers that’s travelling the world on a special tour that also has stops in places like Mumbai and New York City. The immersive experience includes a 30-minute three-part distillery tour, barrel building and charring with master cooper Ger Buckley, live music performances, Jameson pop-up bars and a merch shop.

Tours are intended to immerse you in the place where Jameson was first distilled in 1780, and highlight the story of Jameson, their triple-distillation process and signature taste. Tours are free, and there are limited spots for walk-ins, but it’s recommended that you reserve ahead of time.

The pop-up experience will kick off on May 2 with opener Cam Kahin and then a performance and DJ set by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene. You can also expect performances from acts like Pkew Pkew Pkew, Blunt Chunks, Burs and Boy Wonder throughout the length of the pop-up, with a resident DJ spinning throughout the day almost every day of the pop-up.

The Jameson Distillery on Tour experience will have hours from noon to 11 p.m. every day, but take care to note tours only take place between noon and 5 p.m. The pop-up runs from May 2 to 12 at Stackt Market at 28 Bathurst Street.
