Sometimes it can feel like a new Thai restaurant opens every other day in Toronto, but one of the latest ones to swing open its doors is adding a little extra incentive for folks to come in and celebrate their grand opening with them.

Koh Rawi is now open in Toronto, and they’re finally ready to have their grand opening celebrations. They’re doing something a little different for the grand opening of their Thai restaurant in Toronto, and are going to be serving food for just one dollar.

This is a great deal for anyone looking for a major deal one some seriously tasty Thai food, as most full Thai meals can cost up to or around $20, or even more than that sometimes at some restaurants.

The restaurant Koh Rawi is a relatively typical Thai spot, serving all kinds of traditional favourites that include spring rolls, tom yum soup, mango salad, curries, pad see ew, pad thai, pineapple fried rice, mango sticky rice and deep fried banana.

Koh Rawi will be celebrating their grand opening by serving up piping hot pad kra pao for just a buck to the first 100 people to show up to their festivities at noon on the day of the celebration.

Their pad kra pao is made with fresh holy basil leaves, long green beans, onions, bell peppers, and fresh chili, and is served with steamed rice and topped with a perfectly cooked fried egg. The dish normally has a value of $21 to $25 at Koh Rawi depending on your protein choice, so this is actually a major steal of a deal.

“We bring you a true taste of Thailand — inspired by the beautiful island of Koh Rawi, known for its untouched nature, warm hospitality, and rich cultural heritage,” reads the official website for Koh Rawi.

“Our menu reflects the soul of Thai cooking: a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, sour, and savory flavors that awaken your senses. Every dish is freshly prepared using high-quality ingredients, aromatic herbs, and traditional Thai spices. Our chefs have years of experience creating authentic Thai dishes that honor the country’s culinary traditions while adding a modern touch suited to Toronto’s diverse food scene.”

Koh Rawi will be having their grand opening celebration day on April 9, and will be serving their $1 pad kra pao to the first 100 customers in line starting at noon.

You can find Koh Rawi located at 934 King St. W.
