Grocery chain is shutting down stores with no notice in Ontario

A well-liked organic grocery chain has been quietly shutting down stores in Toronto with no warning.
The Organic Garage in Liberty Village is now permanently closed, with signs up in the windows letting people know they’re no longer able to shop there. Their Junction location is also no longer listed on their website.

The chain was known as a source for organic goods sold at fair prices, with lots of options for coveted specialty products. They also had lots of grab-and-go items and fun things not found at typical grocery stores like kombucha on tap.
They’ve previously operated stores in the Junction and Liberty Village in Toronto, but now only their Oakville and Thornhill locations are listed on their website.

Organic Garage has not made any type of formal announcement letting customers know when or why exactly they were shutting down, but a sign in the window of the Liberty Village location reads “Attention customers, this Organic Garage location is now permanently closed. We thank you for your support.”
Though no formal announcement was made, the parent company of Organic Garage, Oragin Foods, filed for bankruptcy in March. It’s been reported that all four Organic Garage locations will be closing eventually.
