CLOSURES: Restaurants that closed last month in Toronto

Toronto is home to many, many restaurants, but sadly not all of them can stick around forever. In the month of September in 2025, a few restaurants that were close to our hearts closed their doors. Some were around for a decade or more, and some were open for just a little bit, but either way they made their mark on their communities.
In September 2025 we lost a newer location of a Caribbean restaurant and an older location of a Cuban spot, a refreshing bar for local hangouts, and a neighbourhood establishment that had been in business for over 30 years.
Say goodbye to these restaurants as they leave their neighbourhoods, and look forward to the new beginnings that might take place where they left off.
Here are restaurants that closed their doors last month in September 2025 in Toronto.
This Caribbean restaurant has been well known for its delicious eats for a long time to Torontonians, but its east end location is famous as the setting for the music video for “Work” starring Drake and Rihanna. While the Little Italy restaurant may not have had such famous names cross its threshold and twerk on its floor, this location that closed at the beginning of September will still be sorely missed. Lovers of jerk chicken and other island fare will have to get their fix elsewhere in the area.

A Riverside location of this hangout for beer and bar food opened up not too long ago, but now they’ve already closed the doors on their operation in that part of town. Locals will no longer be able to head to the corner of Queen and Broadview for a quick drink and a bite to eat while chilling with friends.
Roncesvalles has been home to a location of this Cuban restaurant for 13 years, but at the end of September the neighbourhood bid farewell to the comforting spot. They were always known for their delicious takes on traditional Cuban sandwiches such as Cubanos and medianoches. They could also be relied on for smaller snacks, larger Cuban plates, and a yummy cocktail or two. However, La Cubana recently expanded operations to Prince Edward County.

For over 30 years, people in the East York community have been gathering at this laid back local restaurant for a bite to eat from their casual bistro menu. The restaurant let everyone know they were closing down with a short but heartbreaking announcement about the sad news.
