A whopping 11 more Beer Store locations just shut their doors this past weekend in Ontario.

We just recently lost some other Toronto Beer Store locations, and now two more have shuttered as part of this recent wave of closures.

The two Toronto stores that just closed were located at 609 Roehampton Ave. and 1580 Avenue Rd.

The other Beer Stores that closed were located in Aurora at 14800 Yonge St., in Richmond Hill at 13469 Yonge St., in Oakville at 104 Lakeshore Road West and 1011 Upper Middle Rd., in Coboconk at 6716 Highway 35, in Cornwall at 1396 2nd St. E., in Wiarton at 690 Berford St. and in Windsor at 790 Goyeau St. and 1780 College Ave.

The Beer Store and the LCBO have been the only places to buy booze in the past, but nowadays alcoholic beverages are available at grocery stores and convenience stores.

Unfortunately, if you’re unhappy with the recent Beer Store closures in Ontario, there’s more bad news. More closures are on the way for the chain, which will happen at regular intervals throughout the summer. Waves of closures are scheduled for July and August, with nine set to close on July 20, and 10 each on Aug. 10 and Aug. 24.

“The Beer Store is modernizing operations to meet the needs of marketplace – this means making the difficult decision to close some stores. We know this will be disappointing to many customers and our valued employees,” Ozzie Ahmed, vice president of retail at The Beer Store, said in a previous news release about the closures.

“We don’t make this decision lightly; it is part of our ongoing commitment to business sustainability and serving the needs of our customers.”

The last day for all the above locations of the Beer Store was July 6.
