CLOSURE: Two more Beer Stores are closing in Toronto

Two more Beer Stores are set to close this month in Toronto, including one right downtown.

The waves of Beer Store closures that have raged over the last few months aren’t even done for the month of August, with the chain squeezing in a few more closures before it’s over.

The stores that are closing their doors in Toronto are located on The Queensway, in Scarborough and right downtown on Spadina Avenue.

The other Beer Store locations that are closing are located in Atikokan at 711 Mackenzie St. E., in Blind River at 115 Causley St., in Bothwell at 160 Oak St., in Garson at 3098 Falconbridge Hwy.,in Manotick at 1160 Beaverwood Rd., in Powassan at 760 Main St., and in Richmond Hill at 8825 Yonge St.

The Scarborough store that’s closing down is located at 1089 Kingston Rd. Toronto’s Beer Stores that will be shutting down are located at 772 The Queensway and 720 Spadina Ave.

“Closing a retail store is never an easy decision – our stores and employees contribute to communities in many ways and provide easy access to empty returns throughout Ontario,” said Ozzie Ahmed, Vice President Retail, TBS, in a release.

“We are modernizing operations and focusing on what we do best, selling ice cold beer, great customer service and a world leading recycling system that gets customers their deposit money back. The Beer Store recognizes the contributions our employees make to the business. All efforts will be made to support employees through this process in alignment with commitments and agreements.”

The last day for all the above locations is Aug. 24.
