A family restaurant that was known for their gluten-free and healthy takes on fast casual food has closed down in the Mississauga area.
Not Another Restaurant served organic comfort food in a fast casual environment in the area of Port Credit. The restaurant focused on organic food with no antibiotics, pesticides, herbicides or hormones. Dishes included a wide range of inclusive options such as gluten-free fish and chips, chicken tenders and fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, wraps, and other sandwiches, and they also served ice cream.
Not Another Restaurant also boasted about their food being gluten-free, free range, pasture raised, grass fed, halal and wild caught. They would also use pink Himalayan salt instead of table salt, and cooked their deep fried foods in cold pressed raw rice bran oil.
They had ambitions of creating their very own grow op where they could grow microgreens and herbs in house for use in their restaurant, without the use of herbicides or pesticides.
Not Another Restaurant even wanted to function as a store of sorts selling organic, wild caught, and grass fed groceries like beef.
“Hey Everyone! I just wanted to say it was a pleasure meeting everyone in Port Credit during our short visit – unfortunately, my lack of experience and profit not being the motive, led to the restaurant closing down,” restaurant owner David Goff said on Facebook.
Goff said some of the biggest challenges he faced at Not Another Restaurant were the slow pace of business and staffing issues with difficulty putting together a good team.
People commented on the announcement on social media saying they were sorry to see the local spot Not Another Restaurant close.
“Sad to see it closed,” one person commented on Facebook. “Thank you trying to give us healthier options. The food was delicious. I will miss it.”
“Place was great. sucks its gone,” another commenter said.
Not Another Restaurant opened up in its spot at 111 Lakeshore Rd. W. about two years ago. The harbour location was previously home to Captain Robin’s Family Restaurant for many years, but the all-day breakfast spot closed in early 2022.
A Chicago hot dog restaurant opened at the address in October 2022, eventually closed after less than a couple years taking up residence there. Not Another Restaurant opened at the Lakeshore space in early 2024.
According to Goff, Not Another Restaurant is slated to be replaced by a new Vietnamese restaurant.
Not Another Restaurant closed in Mississauga sometime around September 2025.
