A vintage shop that’s been in business for five years just closed their doors in Mississauga.

Recalled has been operating in Port Credit for years, selling vintage shoes, shirts, sweaters, jerseys, bags, glasses, hats and hoodies. A lot of their selection leans in the streetwear direction with baggy apparel from brands like Stussy, Arc’teryx and Balenciaga, but they also sell some items like purses and heels.

Fortunately, Recalled recently opened another location of their store in Toronto about a year ago on College Street.

Sadly, they’ve now just said goodbye to their Mississauga location, and will be operating solely in Toronto.

Announcements letting people know the Mississauga location would be shutting down received hundreds of likes and dozens of comments on Instagram from people who were sorry to see them leaving the area, writing things like “y’all used sell to 511s for 30 bucks,” “sauga legends” and “I’m going to miss you guys.”

“Recalled started in 2020 with a store that cost $500 to put together,” says a voiceover in one video announcing the closure, which also says they’ve never taken loans, opening their downtown store with $10,000 in savings, designing it and building it out within three weeks.

It was a year after opening before they even broke even on the new downtown storefront, and now at this time they’ve chosen to close down the Mississauga location.

Recalled had a final blowout sale for their last day in Port Credit on Aug. 2.
