Evergreen Brick Works is having its first ever official craft beer fest, which will also have an emphasis on eco-friendliness.
Just like most beer festivals, there will be multiple beers available to sample as well as live music and food vendors, but at this one the artisanal beers will be eco-friendly, brewers will be available to explain their sustainable approaches, and there will be seminars on sustainable brewing.
Over a dozen breweries will be pouring at the event, including GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co., Blood Brothers Brewing, Longslice Brewery, Red Tape Brewery, Miski Brewing, Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery, Libra Beverage Co., Royal City Brewing Co., Amsterdam Brewing Co., Henderson Brewing and Rally. Local distillery Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers will also be at the event.
Food will be provided by Alijandro’s Kitchen, WuBa Eats Baos, Bashy Patties, and Born2Eat.
One seminar by GoodLot called Cultivating Sustainability & Terroir in Local Beer will provide education on local hop growing, regenerative agriculture and how GoodLot seeks to enhance the flavours of their beer by preserving beer terroir in a way that’s both ethical and eco-conscious. Samples of GoodLot beer will be available as examples.
Another seminar from Longslice called From Grain to Glass: New Technologies in Brewing will be about green brewery design and their commitment to regenerative agriculture.
Early bird tickets are now available for $35, and include a tasting cup and two tokens valid for a four-ounce sample each.
Evergreen Brick Works Craft Beer Fest takes place on July 14 from noon to 8 p.m.
