Toronto is getting a huge new event venue and restaurant in an old church

An old church is being transformed into one of Toronto’s biggest new event venues and restaurants.
Called The Imperial, the concept will be housed in a decommissioned gothic-style church that dates back to 1912. With over 14,000 square feet of combined indoor and outdoor space, The Imperial will have a capacity of 450 seated, and over 600 for a cocktail-style setting.
The venue will encompass a number of unique spaces, including The Lobby, The Imperial Room, the cozy Bistro, outdoor Courtyard and Rooftop spaces, and The Bell Tower, ideal for the most special occasions like weddings. They’ll even have a partnership with The Hazelton Hotel where The Imperial will handle all arrangements concerning accommodations and chauffeur services to and from an event.
The Bistro will be open to the public daily, with a menu that should range from classics to more innovative offerings, and an overarching Italian theme that ties together all the culinary experiences available from The Imperial.
Speaking of Italy, the venue will also offer curated luxury trips to Italy where you can stay in an ultra-fancy villa and enjoy Michelin-level culinary experiences as well as Roman shopping trips for an all-in price.

The Imperial is opening at 129 St. Clair West in late 2024.
