Top bagel spot opening new location in Toronto

A shop known for making some of the top Montreal-style bagels in Toronto is quietly working on opening a new store.

Bagels on Fire specializes in wood-fired bagels, has been in business for over a decade, and has locations at Queen and Spadina, on Queen East, and at The Well.

“Our unwavering commitment to using only the finest ingredients and traditional baking methods sets us apart,” reads the Bagels on Fire website.

“Our bagels are carefully hand-rolled and boiled in honey water, resulting in a distinctive texture and flavor profile. Our custom wood-fired ovens ensure that our bagels are baked fresh daily.”

Now, they’re gearing up to open a brand new spot in a totally new neighbourhood.

The store doesn’t appear to have officially announced the new opening yet, but signage is now up for a new location coming soon to Liberty Village.

The location is opening where a Freshii used to be at 85 Hanna Ave. The Freshii, which used to serve healthy eats like wraps and bowls, closed around the beginning of 2025.

The new location of Bagels on Fire in Liberty Village should be opening this summer.
