We’ve all been hurting when it comes to costs lately, whether it’s at restaurants, the grocery store or pretty much anywhere else. One Toronto restaurant has taken matters into their own hands by reducing prices…to the level they were before the pandemic.

Easy Restaurant in Toronto is known for its brunch, and it’s just made its famed huevos more affordable by dropping prices. The restaurant has been around since 1999, so it has seen a rise in inflation over many years.

“Don’t count on Trudeau to make the cost of living easier, count on us,” the restaurant wrote on Facebook, posting a photo of their menu with new lower prices.

The menu is full of brunch favourites, including omelettes, eggs Benny, waffles, breakfast burritos and quesadillas. Some of the lowest-priced items on the menu are now the eggs Florentine, egg and avocado toast, the Queen Western omelette and the vegan quesadilla, all for $13.95.

They’ve also got a weekday special of three breakfast tacos for $12.95. Their products are still all held to high-quality standards, using free-range eggs from local Mennonite farms.

“The price drops were substantial, but not 100% pre-pandemic,” says Easy Restaurant owner Peter Morrison.

“We dropped almost all of the main dishes and smoothies dropped. Response has been good, but still slower. We did it because people were telling us prices are too high.”

If you not only believe in paying fair prices for quality eats but also supporting local old school institutions, head over to Easy where they’re trying to pay it forward.
