The post office dates back to 1914 but has been totally restored. The lobby has high ceilings, a fireplace and original artwork. The ground floor is home to a fitness centre, a lounge and new all-day restaurant The Lobby, which is open to the public and hotel guests.

Operating as a cafe and bar, The Lobby’s all-day menu includes options like yellowfin tuna crudo, shrimp rolls and smash burgers.

The crown jewel of Postmark is Overlea, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant serving options like venison carpaccio and corn ricotta cappelletti for dinner and sour cherry pancakes and Montreal smoked meat Benedicts for brunch.

The Postmark Hotel has three floors and 55 rooms in different sizes and styles, all of which come complete with Canadian artwork, locally made organic toiletries and French bedding.

The hotel also has four event spaces including a private dining room and a larger event space with a wraparound terrace.

“The Postmark Hotel has always been something special, ever since its inception as a post office in 1914,” said Avi Wulfand, general manager of The Postmark Hotel. “We are thrilled to bring to life this community hub in the heart of Newmarket.”

The Postmark Hotel is now open at 180 Main St. in Newmarket.
