Toronto’s first recovery club dedicated to experiential wellness just opened its doors.

Active Remedy Club is, according to their website, “a social hub for innovative recovery” that aims to “accelerate recovery” and “enhance daily performance.” The club encompasses a sauna, ice baths, IV drip therapy and a sports therapy clinic.

The sauna has a capacity of 55 and reaches 90 degrees Celcius. The ice chamber contains commercial-grade ice baths that reach temperatures between zero to four degrees Celcius, and also has sound immersion tools. The lounge is a space for connecting socially with a complimentary tea bar and the remedy hub is a “multifaceted space focused on injury prevention, physical wellbeing, and mental recovery.”

The remedy hub encompasses chiropractics, physiotherapy, registered massage therapy, medical acupuncture, cupping, compression therapy, red light therapy and IV drip therapy.

There are also regular ARC After Dark sessions that function as sober-curious social nights at the club with people encouraged to use the sauna and ice chamber and chill out in the lounge with relaxed conversation and a cup of tea, all underscored by music and colourful lighting.

The club also offers classes like Energy Work: Sound Restore blending sound therapeutics, yoga and somatic body care, or Bodywork: Upper Body Tune-Up that guides you through exercises in the sauna designed to target the upper body.

Standard memberships start at $45 per month (though there is a three-month commitment) and include one pass per month to any class, the ability to register for classes three months in advance and a 10-hour cancellation window without penalty.

Active Remedy Club is now open at 171 E. Liberty St.
