A destination in Toronto for Bosian flatbread and pizza has abruptly announced they’re shutting their doors for good in a matter of days.

Somun Superstar gained a great reputation for something that’s not always so easy to find in Toronto: somun, a type of pillowy Bosnian flatbread. The restaurant on Kingston Road stuffed it with cevapcici (a sort of minced meat sausage) and other ingredients to make sandwiches, and they also used their wood-burning ovens to make pizzas with Bosnian toppings.

The restaurant has now suddenly posted to social media saying “The time has come to say goodbye.”

“Life has taken us on a different path from when we started five years ago, so we made the difficult decision to permanently close Somun Superstar,” reads the post, signed by Alen and Sanja.

“We are grateful to our loyal customers — it’s been an honour to meet each and every one of you. Thank you for supporting us over the years. Also, thanks to our team members, present and past, we couldn’t have done it all without you.”

The post has hundreds of likes and comments from people saying how much they’ll miss Somun Superstar and wishing the owners luck with the future. One person even commented saying they met their partner who they’re now raising a child with at the restaurant.

The last day of service for Somun Superstar will be June 22.
