Toronto’s newest restaurant comes with a secretive twist: a hidden speakeasy right beside it.
Eloise serves lunch and dinner with elegant flair, with a menu centered around small plates and pasta, with a tight selection of mains and veggie sides.
Small plates include oysters, hamachi crudo and brioche, and their three pastas right now are a potato gnudi, ricotta agnolotti and a casarecce with pork ragu.
Their large plates are a striploin, grilled salmon, bone-in dover sole or grilled chicken, and to accompany there are vegetable sides including grilled cabbage, potato pave and charred broccolini.
The menu is rounded out by a selection of desserts for two, classic cocktails, an extensive wine list, spirits and digestifs.
For lunch, Eloise offers a nice deal on a $39 prix fixe menu where you can choose a starter like the brioche or oysters and follow it up with a pasta for your main course.
Hidden beside Eloise is their sibling speakeasy called Bar Cart, which is only open in the evenings.
The menu at Bar Cart consists of a range of signature cocktails along with bar snacks such as oysters, foie gras parfait, crispy cauliflower, Chicken 65 and shishito peppers.
Eloise is now open at 42 The Esplanade alongside Bar Cart.
