A new restaurant for Thai food has just swung open its doors in Toronto, and they’re serving up way more than pad thai.

Aroi Thai is an elegant new Thai restaurant that just opened in Toronto.

Their menu consists of a lineup of apps, salads, soups, noodles, curries, stir fries, grilled dishes, rice dishes and desserts.

While there are some more typical appetizers on the Aroi menu that you might see at any Thai restaurant like chicken satay and calamari, they also take it to the next level with other apps such as crispy taro-tofu rolls and betel leaf scallops.

In the salad section, there’s an interesting striploin grape option, and their pomelo salad and scallop ceviche are some of Aroi Thai’s signature dishes.

Of course they’re serving pad thai and drunken noodles, but there’s a bit of a twist to their chicken khao soi and short rib khao soi, which are both served with a kind of ravioli.

Aroi is also serving a beef brisket massaman curry, a lobster green curry and a sea bream choo chee curry as well as a Crying Tiger Verde stir fry that pairs AAA striploin with nam jim jaew as well as a Thai-style chimichurri.

To wash everything down, Aroi Thai also serves sophisticated cocktails like a yuzu sour, and a drink called the Sakura Smoke that combines Japanese whisky, premium sake, and orange bitters, and is garnished with a smoking cinnamon stick.

Aroi Thai is now open at 1216 Queen St. E.
