It’s always exciting to see a brand new patty shop open its doors in Toronto, but it’s even more exciting when one opens that’s conveniently located at a subway station for grab-and-go eats.
But what’s even more exciting than that? When they’re also giving away free patties to celebrate their opening!
Roywoods has become known for their tasty and popular Caribbean food over the years they’ve been open in Toronto, and they’ve branched out to open several different locations in different areas over time. Now, this newest patty shop outpost is going to be their latest yet.
The new shop is going to be called Roywoods Patty, and they claim to be serving Toronto’s first seed-oil-free patty. Their patties are also made by hand.
Roywoods is known for their classic Caribbean favourites like jerk chicken, BBQ chicken, fried chicken and jerk pork, all of which are available in sandwich form, but obviously for this new shop they’ll be focusing on one of Toronto’s official foods: the beloved patty.
They’re opening their new shop at one of the most convenient locations in the city: a subway station smack dab in the middle of downtown Toronto.
Roywoods Patty will be opening up their new quick service location at TMU station, formerly known as Dundas station. They’ll be serving spicy beef, jerk chicken, curry shrimp, oxtail and veggie patties.
To celebrate the opening of their newest and most unique location in Toronto, Roywoods is giving away 416 patties on their first day.
“In today’s economy, we know families and commuters are looking for options that are both affordable and high quality,” says Regis Cito, co-founder of Roywoods, in a release. “With Roywoods Patty, we’re able to offer healthy, seed oil-free patties made fresh daily at a price that makes sense. City living is fast and busy; people shouldn’t have to compromise on taste, quality, or value. This kiosk allows our customers to enjoy authentic Caribbean flavours that are better for them, without breaking the bank.”
Roywoods is currently operating other locations at 121 Fort York Blvd., 65 Front St., 598 Bay St. and 100 City Centre Dr. in Mississauga.
“With our love for the local art scene and classic tunes, Roywoods stayed true to keeping the Toronto street vibe alive throughout each of our locations,” reads the official Roywoods website. “We are now a spot for locals to come enjoy a jerk chicken sandwich or a plate of delicious oxtail while bumpin’ some of your favourite tunes and washing it all down with your favourite Caribbean beverage.”
Roywoods Patty is opening at TMU subway station on Feb. 5.
