The Distillery Winter Village is something people in Toronto look forward to every year, and this year they’ve added another exciting new element to keep those people, especially the food lovers, coming back for way more.
This year, the Distillery Winter Village is home to a brand new experience dubbed Chef’s Lane, featuring four Canadian celebrity chefs in four cute winter cabins dishing out four exclusive elevated holiday-themed food creations.
The celeb chefs that will be taking up residence in the special Chef’s Lane winter cabins will be Nuit Regular of Pai and many other restaurants, Eric Chong of R&D, Claudio Aprile and Bruno Feldeisen.
Chef Claudio Aprile will be serving up a creation he calls “The Aprile Holiday Feast” that combines roast turkey, smoked brisket, sweet potato, smoked provolone, fresh sage and cranberry chutney. Chef Nuit Regular will be serving a warming tom yum soup with poached shrimp, lemongrass, makrut lime leaves, and sawtooth coriander.
Chef Eric Chong will be dishing up a steaming spicy mala poutine that smashes together pork cabbage dumplings, mozzarella, Szechuan gravy and fries, and for a sweet treat, Chef Bruno Feldeisen will be serving a chocolate-dipped candy cane cheesecake lollipop.
Another exclusive new holiday experience popping up at the Distillery Winter Village this year will be a special Craig’s Cookies pop-up. It’ll be the only place where you can get a special holiday hot chocolate from Craig’s Cookies made with local Soul Chocolate hot chocolate mix, toasted marshmallow and a mini white chocolate candy cane cookie.
A newly opened Distillery District location of dessert shop Demetres will also be participating in the Winter Village for the first time this year, and are bringing brand new offerings to the festival with their Dubai hot chocolate and creme brulee crepes.
Three patios in the Distillery District are also transforming into holiday pop-ups for the Winter Village this year.
Archeo is turning their patio into an immersive tropical rainforest Costa Rican chocolate paradise, with surfboard tables and bird-nest loungers. They’re serving hot chocolate in fresh coconuts with whipped cream, a “mochanut” (a blend of coffee and hot chocolate, served in a real coconut), tropical fruit fondue, and premium chocolate.
Cluny Bistro is making their patio into an Ugly Sweater Patio Bar with an eight-foot ball of yarn, and outside Madrina you can find the Peppermint Patio with a 10-foot candy cane wreath, red-and-white everything and candy cane cocktails.
