One of the most famous farmers’ markets in all of Toronto is looking for a new vendor, and it should be an exciting addition to the marketplace for all the food lovers that already shop there.
St. Lawrence Market is one of the most historic markets in Toronto and is known far and wide for its vast selection including produce, meat, seafood, cheeses, restaurants, shops and much, much, much more.
Now, the market is looking to add to their formidable lineup of vendors by seeking a new arrangement for a new restaurant or cafe at their newer North Market.
The St. Lawrence North Market opened up its doors in early 2025, offering a place for weekend vendors to sell their goods on a more permanent basis. The new building is located just across the street from the old market.
A call has been put out by the operators of St. Lawrence Market to open up a new concept in the building located at Front and Jarvis. The portion of the market that’s been set aside for the new cafe measures a hefty 1,200 square feet, meaning whoever successfully applies for the cafe space will have a lot of room to work with.
The large restaurant or cafe space will be found on the left side of the main doors, according to a social media post.
“Have a café or food concept you’d love to bring to St. Lawrence Market? We’re seeking qualified applicants to operate a food and/or beverage business in a 1,229 sq. ft. main floor space at St. Lawrence Market North (92 Front Street),” the market said on social media.
“We’re looking for concepts that align with the Market’s specialty identity, demonstrate strong quality and service standards, and contribute to a vibrant, diverse tenant mix.”

An open house for anyone interested in becoming an owner of the new space was held on Feb. 20.
In the comments of the social media post, readers tagged a number of businesses they hope to see take up residence in the space, including local favourites such as No. 7 Hot Sauce, Chocollata Brigadeiros, Boxcar Social and others.
The historic St. Lawrence Market, located on the south side of the intersection of Front and Jarvis, is already home to a number of quick-service food spots that include Buster’s Sea Cove, Stack’d Deli Kitchen, Yianni’s Kitchen, and Uno Mustachio, as well as a sit-down Paddington’s Pump location.
Proposals are due by March 13, and you can find out more on the official St. Lawrence Market website.
