A highly anticipated new barbecue restaurant that started out as a pop-up drew lineups and sold out their first day open.

Golden Horseshoe was started as a pop-up by barbecue wunderkind Andrew Golden who’s in his early 20s, and regularly sold out of their popular smoked meats. Now, they’ve opened a physical restaurant serving all their wood fired Texas-style brisket, sausage, ribs and more, and it’s getting just as slammed as the pop-ups.

There were lineups down the block before the doors even opened for the first time, and on that same day they sold out of barbecue.

The anticipation for the opening of Golden Horseshoe had been building, as earlier opening dates were promised but kept getting pushed due to setbacks, with the restaurant hoping in May that they would have been open by June. Finally, in August they posted they’d be open within weeks, showing videos of 5,000-pound smokers being loaded in.

The restaurant takes up residence at a massive corner spot, and has been redone with sandblasting to the brick exterior to remove all graffiti, and a rustic makeover on the inside with lots of painted brick, wood, metal and other rustic industrial elements.

Golden Horseshoe is now open at 657 Dupont St.
