One of Toronto’s hottest omakase restaurants by a Michelin-starred chef looks to be quietly opening a second location in Toronto.

MSSM is another restaurant from chef Masaki Saito, who is also behind two-Michelin-star restaurant Sushi Masaki Saito. The original restaurant is located in Yorkville, but now signage appears to be going up for a new location on Dundas West.

There’s also a hiring post up online that appears to be for the new location. The job listing is for a busser at “MSSM Ossington.”

It reads, “MSSM Ossington is the second location of the MSSM series of restaurants. It is also sister to the only Michelin 2-Star restaurant in Canada, Sushi Masaki Saito. MSSM group aims to combine traditional and authentic Edomae omakase with a modern twist by applying Chef Masaki Saito’s techniques.”

The busser listing describes typical responsibilities, and also says that knowledge of Japanese cuisine is an asset and that discounted or free food is a benefit.

The ad appears to list the expected start date as May 1, so while there may be radio silence regarding the new location on MSSM’s social media, this ad and the signage at 1219 Dundas Street West indicate an opening may be closer than we expect.
