Nobu is named for Japanese chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, a classically trained sushi chef who first opened a sushi bar in Peru. He actually opened the first Nobu with the help of Robert DeNiro back in 1994.

The Nobu Hotel, Restaurant and Residences in Toronto will stand at 45 storeys and have 36 suites, as well as a private hotel lounge and a wellness facility with state-of-the-art fitness equipment. Toronto’s Nobu restaurant will span 15,000 square feet across two levels, and will have a separate bar and lounge, a sushi bar, two private dining rooms and an outdoor terrace.
