Grilled cheese restaurant just opened their first ever Toronto location

A grilled cheese sandwich restaurant that has gained popularity in a ski resort area and elsewhere in Ontario has now opened their first ever Toronto location.
Cheezed is a restaurant where the menu revolves around grilled cheese sandwiches, with locations both at the Village at Blue Mountain and Barrie, and now a new spot in Toronto.
“Established in 2021, Cheezed Canada is a grab and go style restaurant offering grilled cheeze sandwiches created and inspired by a team of local chefs and the Cheezed group,” reads the official website for Cheezed.
“Our goal at Cheezed is to provide a unique ‘North American experience’ to our visitors, by way of unique menu offerings, friendly customer service and a rustic chalet inspired atmosphere. Our flagship location, in the heart of Blue Mountain Village, made its debut in February of 2022. Following the success of the Blue Mountain location, Cheezed is now expanding to other locations across Canada.”
Three friends and entrepreneurs in the Georgian Bay area originally began to come up with the idea for Cheezed in the summer of 2019.
“After months of business development, product testing and menu crafting the concept of Cheezed was becoming a reality. The creative juices continued to flow like a river of melted Gouda throughout the year,” the Cheezed website reads.
“Each new creation was thoroughly tested and tweaked to ensure mouthwatering perfection. Having easily consumed hundreds of grilled cheeses combined, the friends were confident that perfection of the centuries old sandwich was achieved. With 2020 proving to be a formidable year for many, the friends knew the only remedy would be cheeze.”
The backbone of the Cheezed menu is a lineup of signature grilled cheese sandwiches, but they also serve dips that go way beyond the usual ketchup, as well as sides.
Of course they serve the iconic classic grilled cheese sandwich made with white bread, butter, cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese, but they also branch out much more than that.
They serve a pizza grilled cheese sandwich with basil butter, mozzarella cheese, marinara and pepperoni, “The Grand Pickle” grilled cheese sandwich with dill butter, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, pickles and dill sauce, a jalapeno popper grilled cheese with dill butter, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, bacon and jalapeno, and a cheeseburger grilled cheese with dill butter, cheddar cheese, shaved beef, bacon, pickles and crunchy mustard.
Cheezed is now open at the Wellington Market food hall at The Well.
