Global bistro just opened a new location and another is on the way in Toronto

A new bistro that burst onto the scene last year serving up global flavours has now opened a second location, and they have plans to open another third location very soon.

Region Food + Wine + Bar is an accessible and casual bistro serving up food that’s both simple and sophisticated and that can cater to a wide variety of tastes.

Now, they’re bringing all that signature goodness with favourite dishes from around the world to a whole new neighbourhood with the opening of their second location.

The culinary vision at Region Food + Wine + Bar is led by Executive Chef Steve Silvestro, who has gained national acclaim, has over 20 years of experience in the industry, and who consults with some of the top restaurant chains across the country. The restaurant is committed to responsibly sourcing ingredients from Canadian farmers and producers, and works with them to prioritize sustainable meat farming as well as Ocean Wise practices when it comes to seafood.

Their menu mainly consists of a selection of tartares, charcuterie boards, small plates, handhelds, flatbreads, mains and bowls.

They serve salmon, tuna and beef tartares, as well as meat, cheese and veggie boards. Small plates include options like seared halloumi, marinated olives, calamari, chicken wings, shishitos and bruschetta.

The options for flatbreads are pear mascarpone, bacon artichoke, roasted tomato za’atar and smoked gouda with chicken. For sandwiches, you have to have a spicy chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger, and mains and bowls include options like steak and pasta.

Desserts include a vegan brownie and a range of homemade seasonal cheesecakes.

Region’s first original location can be found in the Canary District at 475 Front St. E., but now they’ve opened a brand new location at 4216 Dundas St. W.

The restaurant isn’t stopping there with their global flavours, though: they have plans to open yet another new location soon, with the address listed on their website as 80 Merchants Wharf.

Region’s new location is now open in Etobicoke at 4216 Dundas St. W.
