A lounge known for putting on everything from comedy, karaoke and burlesque to live blues and jazz just abruptly announced they’ve permanently closed.
Capone’s has been operating as a performance and event venue on Bloor West, but they just recently suddenly posted to social media that they’re now permanently closed.
“Sorry to inform everyone that we are permanently closed,” reads the post. “Thank you to all the performers, musicians, comedians, team members and especially the customers that supported our short lived journey!”
The post has over a hundred likes and dozens of comments from people saying they’re so sorry to hear the news, with one person calling Capone’s the “most amazing place” and another person saying they had the “best amaretto sours in town.”
Capone’s was only around for about two years, first opening in February 2022. The lounge occupied the space in the Lithuanian Centre at 1573 Bloor St. W. that was formerly home to Bar Lokys for decades.
Capone’s posted that they are now permanently closed just a couple of days ago.
