CLOSURES: Retail brand permanently closing physical storefronts in Canada

A line of retail stores has announced they will be permanently closing their physical shops in Canada.
Understance is an intimates brand with an online presence and physical stores located across the country, but now the business has announced publicly that they will soon have to close shops in provinces across Canada next month.
“Our brick-and-mortar stores in Vancouver (Robson St.), Calgary and Toronto will be closing their doors permanently,” reads a social media post from Understance, signed by Team Understance.
“We have limited inventory left, but if you’ve been meaning to visit us in person, we’d love to see you before we close. Thank you Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto for helping shape our products in the fitting rooms and for welcoming us in your communities!”

The social media post has garnered over 1,000 likes and over 200 comments on Instagram, many from people who are sad to see the physical Understance stores closing and will miss having a place IRL to shop for their good quality products.
Understance themselves took to the comments to explain that while physical stores for the brand will be closing, they will still be open for online shopping.
“Our online store is still open and we have resumed shipping to both Canada and the U.S.,” they wrote in a comment on their Instagram post about the closures.
“Thank you for being part of our story. Wishing you & your amazinggg team all the best ahead!” wrote the Bloor West Village BIA, the neighbourhood where the Understance store is located in Toronto.
“Damn this is devastating. Your company is the only company that made bras I was actually looking forward to wearing,” someone else wrote, with another person commenting, “I’m going to cry if you guys are gone permanently.”
“So sad I finally found bras that I can wear that are Canadian made and I’m able to try them on first very disappointing,” one commenter wrote.
“Please don’t ever close your online store,” another commenter begged, “you guys are the only company that make bras for my size cup. thank you for seeing me and others like me. love, a J cup baddie.”
“Really sad to see the brick and mortar stores go,” someone else wrote. “But you guys are fantastic and have the best size range I’ve ever seen in any brand. Really hope you guys continue to perform extraordinarily well online.”
Understance stores in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto will be closing permanently on Dec. 1.
