Restaurants that closed last month during November 2025 in Toronto have included some major surprises. Both a longstanding bar and a restaurant that had barely been open for a year shocked local people in Toronto with the news of their closures this past month in November.
Along with that, several restaurants also closed down, some of which we unfortunately just didn’t see coming. Places for burgers, schnitzel and Vietnamese street food like banh mi all bit the dust last month during November 2025, and the people who enjoyed the food from those restaurants are certainly very sad to see them go.
Here are restaurants that closed last month during November 2025 in Toronto.
Pub goers and local students were dismayed, heartbroken and shocked to hear that this historic multi-level pub that’s been operating at Yonge and Dundas for 80 years would be closing its doors. The community space was known for its charming atmosphere with an iconic fish tank and a hidden gem of a rooftop patio. The bar served affordable beer and popular greasy bar food like wings.
Aside from functioning as a gathering place for the local community, it was also a very popular student hangout bar due to its close proximity to the University of Toronto.

This high profile seafood restaurant on Dundas West gave diners a big surprise when they abruptly shuttered the doors of their stunning and unique dining room with absolutely no notice. It comes as even more of a shock as the restaurant was operated by Matty Matheson, a local celebrity chef who’s well known for his many other successful concepts in Toronto as well as elsewhere in Ontario and beyond.

Toronto lost a spot for Eastern European food like schnitzel, goulash and pierogies with the closure of this longstanding restaurant in Etobicoke that closed its doors after over 20 years around the end of the month.

Suddenly this past month, this tiny restaurant for Vietnamese street food like banh mi, bubble waffles and drinks such as ca phe sua da quickly let their customers know that they would be shutting down with a fast announcement.

Mayday Burger and Pass the Syrup
Doubling as both a burger restaurant and a dessert spot, this dual business was actually located in the same block as the Imperial Pub, so they were forced to shut down this past month as well.

This Thai restaurant on King West sadly didn’t last long, closing its doors after less than a year. Consolation for Thai food fans: it’s now a one-of-a-kind Thai Room Grand.
