It was sad to see several restaurants go at the end of the summer this year in Toronto. They’ll all be sorely missed in their communities.
Part of a renovated movie theatre on Bloor West, this Italian restaurant announced to the neighbourhood that they’d be shutting down during August.
Their pasta and cocktails won’t be forgotten, but fortunately you can still visit the movie theatre as well as affiliated businesses Cafe Paradise and Blue Door Wine Shop.
This speakeasy-style bar was located above Rialto, and also closed down this month. They were known for their innovative drinks.
Cafe fare and Korean beauty products can no longer be found at this shop on Dundas West that was known for making great cakes for special occasions.
This is another Michelin-recommended restaurant in Toronto that has chosen to go in a different direction like a couple others that closed this year.
Thankfully, this one didn’t shut down entirely, and still exists with a new French-Italian concept as Vinoteca Pompette.
This sibling restaurant to Michelin-recognized Ardo announced recently that they would be closing down indefinitely after four years in business on Carlton Street. Fortunately, the team at Dova just opened up new concept Bar Ardo on King East.
Leslieville recently said goodbye to this Italian restaurant that was a go-to for celebrations and classic cuisine for 20 years.
