CLOSURE: Unique restaurant space closing its doors in Toronto

A restaurant that also functioned as a unique community space in Toronto has announced that they will soon be shutting their doors early in the new year.
Sounds Good is a jack of all trades, operating as a cafe, restaurant, listening bar, event space and club. As their official website says, “It’s the corner building with the shapes on it, right next to the gas station.”
Serving food until midnight, the menu features items such as tuna crudo, beef tartare, swordfish and steak, with a late night menu with snacks including olives and chicken wings.
“What took two long and amazing years to renovate and open became a reality in January 2023, and now after two unforgettable years of being open, it is with deep regret that we announce Sounds Good will be closing,” reads a social media post from Sounds Good signed by operator Dylan.
“Unfortunately, due to licensing and capacity challenges, continuing operations is no longer sustainable in the current climate. We will be hosting a special goodbye weekend, with the full programming lineup to be announced soon. Thank you to everyone who helped us along the way. It’s so hard to say goodbye, especially to all who helped build Sounds Good to what it is today. Most importantly, to our incredible staff, who truly brought this special space to life, thank you for your commitment and all your hard work. And, to every single person who came out to support us and believe in the vision we created, we are deeply grateful. We invite you all to come by and celebrate the final moments with us as we say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to so many. Thank you for everything. Hopefully, we will be back soon with a different project.”
