A Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurant serving halal dishes made fresh in house from scratch has just announced they’re abruptly shutting down their location in Toronto.
Azkadenya serves a menu of salads, mezza (small snacks), platters and wraps. Options for their platters include falafel,
saj-fired chicken shawarma, saj-fired AAA beef shawarma, shish tawook, lamb kebabs and AAA beef skewers.
“While we’re deeply saddened to say goodbye to our Toronto location, we’re still here and happy to welcome you at our Mississauga location,” reads a post from the restaurant on their social media signed by Azkadenya Mezza Diner.
“Dear valued customers, we would like to sincerely thank you for your loyalty, support and trust over the past seven years. Serving our community in Toronto has been an honour, and we are truly grateful to every customer who walked through our doors, shared a meal with us, and supported our business along the way. Unfortunately, due to the continued rise in operational expenses and property taxes, we are no longer able to sustain our operations in Toronto. This was not an easy decision, and comes after much consideration.”
The post concludes, “We are deeply appreciative of the memories, relationships and support you have given us throughout the years. Your patronage has meant more to us than words can express.”

May Allah bless your business. From the hospitality to the food, it was a great experience. We will be visiting again!”
“Makes me sad. The food and service were amazing here. The restaurant was underrated. Hope to keep supporting you in Mississauga,” someone else wrote in a comment on the post announcing the closure of the Toronto location of Azkadenya.
