A longstanding location of a beloved chain restaurant has just closed its doors after nearly two decades of business at a mall in the city of Toronto.
Moxies has just closed its doors at one of Toronto’s most popular malls. The restaurant chain had been operating the location at the mall for 18 years.
The restaurant chain Moxies is known for serving a wide selection of accessible food on their huge menu, with lots of options for items like sushi, salads, handhelds, pastas, bowls, steaks, fish, chicken and ribs. They also have deals on specific features each and every day of the week, and they also do special deals for happy hour and late night.
While the closure has been in the works for a while, no specific reason was given for the closure of the Moxies location in Toronto.
The Moxies was located at popular shopping centre Yorkdale, where many other chain restaurants are also located.
Moxies said that since opening in February 2007, more than two million guests were served. Moxies has 19 other locations in Ontario. It will also re-open in Barrie at a new location at Park Place later this year.
“Moxies has invited our guests to savour the moment across 50+ locations in Canada and in the United States for more than 30 years,” reads the official website for Moxies.
“Drawing inspiration from his experience in a Michelin-recognized restaurant and designing the menu for the James Beard House Canada 150th celebration, Executive Chef Brandon Thordarson delivers culinary excellence under a commitment to the craft of cooking and the personal mantra, ‘if it isn’t right, it doesn’t leave the kitchen.'”
There should be locations of Moxies still operating in the Greater Toronto Area in Etobicoke, North York, Richmond Hill, Mississauga and Brampton.
There are almost 60 locations of the Moxies restaurant chain operating right now in North America. The history of the Moxies brand has origins that stretch all the way back to the year 1986.
“While it’s always difficult to close a restaurant, we remain proud of our team’s role in creating memorable experiences for those who have visited our long-standing Yorkdale location,” Moxies president and COO Joanne Forrester said.
“This closure is not an end but a step toward our continued evolution, allowing us to focus on future growth opportunities. We are deeply grateful for the loyalty and support of our guests.”
The last day for Moxies at Yorkdale was Jan. 17.
