CLOSURE: Restaurant on busy nightlife strip closing down in Toronto

A restaurant that’s been operating on a very busy and competitive strip in Toronto has announced it will soon be closing its doors.
Ngogo is a restaurant on a bustling Toronto street that serves an elegant but accessible menu. They’ve been serving frequent specials, including buck-a-shuck oysters on Sundays and Mondays, 50 per cent off steak and fries on Tuesdays, half price on bottles of wine on Wednesdays, and 30 per cent off all appetizers on Thursdays.
They’ve been serving up dishes such as duck confit, salmon tartare, pan seared shrimp, house made gnocchi, shrimp pasta, AAA striploin, cassoulet, Hokkaido scallops and desserts such as white chocolate panna cotta.
Ngogo has also become well known for its tasting menu. The restaurant had been serving a French-Korean fusion prix fixe menu for just $38 that people had been enjoying.
The restaurant took to social media just recently to announce to the community that Ngogo would soon be closing its doors.
“Hi, this is Ngogo. After an unforgettable journey, we wanted to share that Ngogo will be closing its doors soon,” reads a post on social media from Ngogo.
“This space has been filled with so many beautiful moments — from your first visits to becoming our regulars, from quiet dinners to special celebrations. We’re truly grateful for every single one of you. We’ll be open for a little while longer, and we would love to see you one more time before we say goodbye. Thank you for being part of our story.”

People commented on the post on Instagram saying the restaurant will be missed, with one person calling Ngogo the best restaurant in the city in their opinion.
The people behind Ngogo are actually the same team that operates Fallen Feather on Ossington Avenue, and they have decided to pivot to focus more of their attention entirely on Fallen Feather.
Fallen Feather opened not long ago in Toronto, and is still getting buzz for their Korean fusion cuisine served alongside fun cocktails in an elegant atmosphere. Fallen Feather has also been serving prix fixe fusion menus, so if you’re worried about Ngogo closing down soon, give the team’s other restaurant located on Ossington Avenue a try.
Staff tell YourCityWithIN.com that it has not yet been confirmed what will be taking over the space where Ngogo used to be on Queen West in Toronto.
The last day in business for Ngogo will be May 17.
