CLOSURE: Popular craft beer bar closing after almost a decade in Toronto

A craft beer bar that’s been operating in Toronto for almost 10 years has just suddenly announced they’ll only be open for a couple more weeks.
For a decade, Craft Brasserie has been Liberty Village’s source for a wide selection of great craft beer, plus casual bites and chill patio hangs. Now, they’ve announced they’re closing their doors.
“After almost 10 years in Liberty Village, we’ve decided that it’s time to move on,” reads a post on social media. “We’ve had some great times and met some wonderful people, but it’s our time.”

Craft was once one of the neighbourhood’s only destinations for a frequently rotating selection of quality craft brews with just a handful of other pubs serving craft beer options. In more recent years, local craft breweries Something in the Water and Left Field Brewery have opened within walking distance of Craft.
While the closure of Craft may leave a void for a while, their closing post promises that it should soon be filled by another fun concept.
“Fortunately, new owners with new ideas and new energy will be taking over the space to bring you something wonderful,” reads the post.
The post accumulated nearly two dozen comments on Instagram within an hour from people saying they were sad to see Craft go.
“Y’all were the only ones who had my favorite craft beers on draft, a true staple to not just LV but Toronto,” one person commented. Another person wrote, “Wow. This is a shock. All the best.”
The last day for Craft Brasserie will be Jan. 17.
