Starbucks is a major coffee chain with locations all around Toronto, but locations of the brand often end up becoming community hubs.

That means it can be a bummer when your local Starbucks closes, leaving you scrambling to figure out where you can now grab your coffee order in a pinch. Unfortunately, that’s what’s happening in one Toronto neighbourhood.

A Starbucks on Queen East is closing down soon, meaning people in that neighbourhood will have to find another place to get their iced brown sugar oat shaken espressos.

A representative for Starbucks tells YourCityWithIN.com that a Queen East location of Starbucks is nearing its natural lease expiration date, and that whenever this happens locations are reviewed in terms of partner and customer experience.

Starbucks has decided not to renew their lease for their location at 1842 Queen St. E.

All Starbucks partners at this location have the opportunity to transfer to nearby locations, and the nearest location to the shuttering Starbucks can be found a 10-minute walk away at 1960 Queen St. E.

The last day for the Starbucks location at 1842 Queen St. E. will be May 18.
