Toronto just lost a location of the LCBO, one of the city’s main places to buy booze.

Liquor Control Board of Ontario stores and the Beer Store are still Ontario’s main two sources for alcohol, though you can now get a variety of alcoholic products at grocery stores and convenience stores.

That means when a location of the LCBO closes in its local community, it hits the neighbourhood hard.

The location of the LCBO at 333 Eglinton Ave. W. just permanently closed this month.

The LCBO is closing because its lease is up at the end of the month on May 31. There are five other LCBO locations within three kilometres of the closed location on Eglinton West, and the LCBO currently has no other store closures planned.

“Similar to other retailers, we are continuously reviewing our store network as part of normal business operations,” a representative of the LCBO tells YourCityWithIN.com.

The last day for the LCBO at 333 Eglinton Ave. W. was May 4.
