CLOSURE: Ice cream shop has closed and isn’t reopening for the summer in Toronto

An ice cream shop has closed its doors for good and won’t be coming back to help us beat the heat in Toronto.
Disco served homemade ice cream and soft baked cookies, but sadly those with a sweet tooth didn’t get to taste them for long. The ice cream parlour was relatively short lived, unfortunately only operating for a couple seasons.
The shop officially opened in March 2023 and took breaks during the colder months, but now they won’t be reopening for 2025. Disco took to social media to explain the various reasons behind the closure with a lengthy and heartfelt post.
“We’ve held off on saying anything until we had more clarity, but now we’re ready to share some news. After an incredible summer, we quietly closed our doors for the winter, hoping to return in the spring. During that time, Gigi was diagnosed with a wrist injury that made it impossible for her to bake our cookies—and let’s be real, without her touch, they just aren’t the same,” reads the post signed by operators Gigi and Ozzy.
“Some of you may have noticed the ‘For Lease’ sign on our shop. The truth is, our landlords raised the rent significantly, so we began searching for a new spot nearby—and we actually found one! But with Gigi needing time to heal, and me not being able to do this without her, we made the difficult decision to let that go too and close the shop all together.”

So while it’s possible this closure may only be temporary, this is the end of Disco’s time at their address on Queen West.
Disco posted that they had temporarily closed and left their old space around mid-April.
