A popular steakhouse that’s been in business for years in the city of Toronto has announced abruptly that they’ve suddenly and permanently closed their doors.

Black Angus Steakhouse has been a reliable destination for a classic luxurious steak dinner in Toronto for a while, but now diners will no longer be able to head to the restaurant to satisfy their meaty cravings.

Of course, the star of the show at Black Angus Steakhouse was the steak, but they offered many other traditional steakhouse restaurant items as well, such as Caesar salad prepared table side and seared scallops.

Black Angus Steakhouse also offered tons of specials and ran many events during their time in business. They offered specials such as buck-a-shuck oysters, steak and fries for two, and a smokehouse menu of barbecue favourites.

As for events, the restaurant hosted many dinners revolving around different pairings to go with their fancy food, including plenty of wine dinners highlighting producers from various regions as well as dinners with high end tequila pairings and even Japanese whisky. Black Angus Steakhouse was also a popular destination for standard holidays such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter.

Now, the restaurant has taken to social media to announce the permanent closure of their space in Etobicoke.

“Black Angus Steakhouse has closed permanently,” reads a simple message on social media from the restaurant. “We are grateful to our guests, staff, and community for the memories shared over the years. Thank you.”

The post only has a handful of likes and comments on Instagram, but a few people are definitely weighing in with their thoughts on the closure.

“I noticed this over the weekend. Very sad to see you are closed. We had some great evenings there,” one commenter wrote.

Other people wrote comments such as “You will be missed!!” “Sorry to read this,” “Such a shame” and “we miss you all already.”

One commenter shared their own personal opinion on the situation: “Way too expensive, it never had a chance. Someone lost $3 million building this place, it was a beautiful steakhouse.”

The website for Black Angus Steakhouse has now been shut down and bears the same message as their social media post. No other details have been provided by the restaurant to customers as to why they have now closed down.

Black Angus Steakhouse made the post announcing their permanent closure on social media last week.
