A community space that functions as a cafe, wine bar, bottle shop and event venue will soon be closing its doors in Toronto early in the new year.

Tammy’s Wine Bar & Cafe on Queen in the Parkdale neighbourhood will soon be shuttering its doors, and people have been quietly taking to social media to announce some of the last gigs and events that will be taking place at the space.

The proudly inclusive safe space is known not only for stocking some seriously fun natural wines and other drinks, but also for hosting all kinds of parties and providing a place for all kinds of DJs, performers and event planners to do their thing.

They also regularly hosted fun community events that brought people together like wine club meetings, as well as regular movie nights that often had a queer theme.

“I had such a fun time hosting karaoke here for about 6 months and when I found out Tammy’s is closing in Jan 2026- I knew I had to host ONE MORE KARAOKE for the plot,” one person posted on social media, letting everyone know about their last karaoke event they’d be hosting at Tammy’s before it closes.

“as Tammy’s enters its final chapter, we’re choosing to send her off the best way we know how—together,” someone else wrote in another social media post, this one spreading the word about a wine and music party. “let’s gather, sip & celebrate while we still can.”

A post about a New Year’s Eve party at Tammy’s reads: “Who can resist going out with one last bang? Come celebrate 2025 and Tammy’s Wine Bar for one last time this New Years Eve! There will be music, drinks, and lots and lots of gay people all night!” After listing the DJs that will be playing sets that night, the post signs off with, “We will miss you, Tammy’s!”

The good news is, if you’re one of those that knows they’ll miss Tammy’s when it’s gone, there’s a silver lining. The business has a sibling space that’s staying open, Tommy’s Wine on Dundas West. They serve up very similar fare to Tammy’s, offering natural wines, coffee, cocktails and craft beer, and also functioning in the same way as a bottle shop. The best part is, they offer similar programming too, with DJs frequently spinning and other local community events often taking place in the inclusive, positive space.

Jan. 5 is the official last day for Tammy’s Wine Bar & Cafe on Queen.
