A pet supply store that was beloved by the community despite its short amount of time in business has now closed its doors in Toronto.

Treat Bar sold all kinds of pet treats, including cakes and cupcakes. They also sold other pet products such as apparel, accessories and toys, and Treat Bar even hosted pet birthday parties.

“Since opening on August 19th, 2023, we’ve spent over 852 days doing what we love, celebrating dogs, connecting with their humans, and creating a space built on joy, community, and a whole lot of treats,” reads a social media post from Treat Bar.

“None of it would have been possible without you. To our customers: thank you for every visit, every recommendation to a friend, every pup you brought through our doors, and every moment you chose to support us. You made this space what it was.”

The post got over 400 likes and nearly 150 comments on Instagram from sad pet parents who were bummed to see the local pet store close its doors.

“I’m so happy Zero & I got to finally visit you before you closed your doors,” reads one comment on the closing announcement post from Treat Bar online. “You’ll be so very missed.”

“Nooooooooo!! Harvey and I loved visiting so much, we are both devastated,” another commenter wrote. “We have so many good memories at the store. He truly loved it there so much, everyone was always so kind to him and clearly loved dogs in a way that made the store feel so special. You felt like a home for the Toronto dog community and there will be a gaping hole without you.”

“I’m so so sad to hear this, you were my first stop when adopting Raspberry and she adores coming in to see you so much,” someone else wrote in a comment on Treat Bar’s social media post about the closure. “Wishing you the best!”

The store closed out their last days in business with a sale on their pet products.

“Like many small businesses right now, we’ve felt just how tough this moment is. The landscape is challenging, and while this chapter is ending, our love for small business, community, and dogs will always remain,” the post from Treat Bar continues.

“From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of Treat Bar Toronto. We’ll carry this community with us always.”

The last day in business for Treat Bar on Queen Street West was Dec. 23, 2025.
