A chain of restaurants specializing in breakfast and brunch has just opened their first ever Toronto location.

Yolks already has three locations in Vancouver, British Columbia and only one other location in Ontario, but they’ve never opened up a location in Toronto before now.

Yolks is known for their menu of breakfast, brunch and lunch dishes. Their menu consists of a range of Eggs Benny, their “Fri-Tot-A’s,” sweet breakfast dishes, breakfast sandwiches and a selection of lunch options. They also offer the option to build your own breakfast with your choice of style of eggs, protein, toast and sides.

They source their free range eggs from Coligny Creek Eggs in Abbotsford, where hens are pasture-raised and fed an entirely vegetarian diet.

Some of the more out-there options for Eggs Benny at Yolks that you won’t find everywhere else are their ancho pork belly and their buttermilk fried chicken n’ waffles benny. Their “Fri-Tot-A” creations are basically frittatas made with scrambled eggs, tater tots and braised spinach and served with their signature hollandaise.

Their sweet breakfast items include a couple options each for pancakes, waffles and French toast, including Nutella cheesecake waffles and cinnamon roll pancakes.

The breakfast sandwiches that are served at Yolks all come on a brioche bun with a hash brown patty stuffed inside. For lunch, there’s mainly burgers and fried chicken sandwiches on the menu, as well as a grilled cheese sandwich.

Yolks is also uniquely known for their signature beignets, which come with your choice of dip with options of blueberry lemon, strawberry lime, Nutella cheesecake and maple caramel cream.

As for the beignets, for the grand opening of the Toronto location of Yolks coming up on Nov. 15, the new location will be giving away free beignets and grab bags to the first 15 people in line on that day.

“Founded by Chef Steve Ewing, whose culinary expertise spans some of the world’s top kitchens, our mission is to transform classic breakfast dishes into meals you’ll crave. Using house-made hollandaise, Perfectly Poached™ eggs, truffle lemon potatoes, and our signature spicy house-made ketchup, we craft each dish from scratch with care and attention,” reads the official website for Yolks.

“Our journey began in 2012 with a humble food truck, where Chef Steve Ewing’s inventive breakfast creations quickly caught the eye of food enthusiasts. This initial success scrambled our way to opening multiple popular locations.”

Yolks is now open in Toronto at 2245 Bloor St. W.
