The longest, tallest and fastest launch coaster in the country is set to open at Canada’s Wonderland.
AlpenFury is themed around fire and ice colliding within Wonder Mountain.
The ride begins with a launch that blasts the rollercoaster 50 metres into the sky out of the mountain’s summit, and from there spans 1,000 metres of the park at a speed of 115 kilometres per hour.
The rollercoaster also goes through a total of nine inversions, the most of any rollercoaster in North America. AlpenFury will be the 19th rollercoaster at Canada’s Wonderland and the fourth involving Wonder Mountain.
It’s set to be the signature attraction of Alpenfest, a new themed area of the park coming next year that’s supposed to be like a mystical village festival. A “sled haus” is supposed to transport guests to the heart of Wonder Mountain.
“AlpenFury is a world-class attraction, and we’re excited for the unique thrills it will offer our guests,” said Phil Liggett, general manager at Canada’s Wonderland, in a release.
“The combination of being blasted out of Wonder Mountain, and then racing through nine inversions one right after the other, is going to be an experience guests won’t soon forget.”
Halloween Haunt and WinterFest are coming up this fall prior to AlpenFury opening next year, and you get unlimited access to all three with the 2025 Gold Pass.
