Christmas pop-ups in Toronto are popular every year when winter rolls around, but Halloween is still weeks away and some bars are already announcing when their wintry experiences will be opening.
Bars from the Pnut Gallery Hospitality Company have been leading the charge with their very popular holiday-themed pop-ups at their restaurants Papi Chulo’s, Papi & Rosita, Aleria and Little Ese.
Their pop-ups for this upcoming holiday season will be Mistletoes&Margaritas at Papi Chulo’s, Christmas on Queen at Aleria, Naughty Nutcracker at Little Ese and Frosty’s Fiesta at Pnut’s newest venue, Papi & Rosita.
All of these pop-ups will be wasting no time, following hot on the heels of Halloween and starting up the very next day, on Nov. 1.
All of the pop-ups by Pnut Gallery will see the various restaurants totally transformed inside and out, with a ton of eye-catching and gaudy holiday decorations like twinkly lights, giant Christmas presents, and huge inflatables. Each spot will be decked out on the inside with more decorations and a cozy atmosphere, and all the bars should be serving special cocktails themed around the holiday season.
Indonesian restaurant Little Sister in the King West area is also already advertising their annual holiday pop-up experience, Java Jingle. They’re now taking bookings for holiday events, and the space will be transformed into a winter wonderland from Nov. 15 all the way through to Dec. 31.
There are several other popular holiday-themed bar experiences that aren’t necessarily advertising yet, but will be coming back this year and are already gearing up for their opening dates. One of the most consistently slammed, Miracle, is opening their Bloor location on Nov. 14, and a Harbourfront location on Nov. 20.
Miracle is known for not only creating a kitschy holiday-themed environment in which to get merry, but also for their expert cocktail creation that’s not just seasonal, but also sensational. Even though October’s not up yet, drinkers can start salivating for options like a Santa Slide with Southern Comfort, dark creme de cacao, and orange chocolate.
Other past holidays pop-ups in Toronto include options like Tipsy Reindeer and Ginger’s Cocktail Bar, but they haven’t started sharing anything about their plans for this year yet.
Whether or not you think it’s too early to be putting up the tinsel and twinkly lights when people have barely started carving their first pumpkins yet, these holiday-themed pop-ups are coming for Toronto, and they’re going to majorly bring the cheer.
