A bar known for giving DJs a space to play has announced they’ll soon be closing down.
Bassline Music Bar hosted electronic music pretty much every night, and has been a haven for DJs and people who love to dance and party for years. Many DJs credit Bassline with giving them their start.
A lot of that is thanks to their open decks nights, where anyone can sign up at the bar to give the turntables a spin. Bassline has been a great place to hear genres like drum and bass, house, jungle and techno. During pandemic lockdowns they also sold meatball sandwiches.
A week ago the bar made a post on social media with the simple caption “Hear ye, hear ye” letting people know Bassline would soon be having its last nights of partying.
“For all you Bassliners we will be playing one last tune,” reads the post. “Thanks to you for all the great times and beats.”
The post has almost 300 likes and over 100 comments from people saying they’re sorry to see Bassline close, including many from DJs saying they got their start at the bar.
More recently, Bassline made another post on social media saying “This weekend is our 13th anniversary! Sadly it will be our last. Come relive all the good times.” The post also says there will be an “all night mystery drink special.”
The last party at Bassline will be on the last day of September.
