A bakery that went viral after they got a personal shout out from influencer Keith Lee has now finally swung open the doors of their very first permanent physical store in Ontario.

Biscuits to Baskets is an Ajax home bakery that once operated out of a backyard, but all that changed just under two years ago when influential TikTok creator Keith Lee paid them a visit and raved about their baked goods.

Keith Lee visited in the spring of 2024, bringing his over 17 million followers with him. The much-loved TikTok star, who’s known for his authenticity and honest, reviewed the Korean Sponge Toffee, giving it an 8/10. He also gave the cake slices at Biscuits to Baskets a 7/10, and gushed about the “over the top” service he got from Suzanne Smith, who owns the bakery with her husband Colter.

After the TikTok review came out, the bakery’s Ajax neighbourhood was overrun with customers looking to get a taste of the viral items, and unfortunately Town of Ajax by-law officers had to tell Smith she could no longer operate out of the backyard.

During the months between the review and Biscuits to Baskets opening the doors of their own dedicated location, the bakery had to implement systems to reduce traffic in the local neighbourhood area. The business had to transition to a pre-order and appointment-based system in August 2025.

Biscuits to Baskets was originally given a deadline of mid-October to find a new commercial space where the bakery could operate. Thankfully, the deadline was extended to Nov. 13, which allowed Smith to get to a point where she could find the space where they’d ultimately reside.

Now, after all that, they’re finally opening the doors of their very own physical storefront to the public.

“WE ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN! That’s right – inspections complete, DineSafe complete and setup (almost) complete,” Biscuits to Baskets wrote in a social media post.

“We will be serving your favourite beverages, treats and other goodies. This is new to us so please bear with us while we get situated and make this place our permanent home. We are so grateful to have made it here and appreciate all the love and support we’ve had a long the way.”

The new location offers a full-service coffee bar, fresh baked goods such as pastries, and an in-house gift shop. The entire space is decked out in a pretty, dusky, pinky-purple colour and is furnished with comfy seating and charming shelving for their products.

The new permanent physical location for Biscuits to Baskets is now open at 109 Old Kingston Road #9 in Ajax’s Pickering Village neighbourhood.
