The inaugural poetry series, called Poetic Voices, will take place on Feb. 26 and will feature award-winning poet Nadine Williams who will share her poetry in an intimate setting at the Art Gallery of Mississauga.

Williams is a Jamaican-Canadian multi-award-winning poet-author and arts educator with a passion for social justice.

Awards she has won include The York Regional Police’ Deeds Speak Award 2014, which received a Parliamentary mention in 2019. Additionally, she was recently named among the 100 Accomplished Black Canadian Women (100ABC) 2022.

Guests who are interested in attending the upcoming poetry series are encouraged to arrive early and visit the new exhibition called The Further Apart Things Seem and enjoy some light refreshments.

While the event is free to attend, guests are encouraged to reserve a spot in advance.

The poetry series will begin at 3:00 p.m.
