An ice cream parlour that once had two locations in Hamilton is down to one.

The Parlour has just closed down one of their Hamilton locations, meaning people in the Hammer have one less place to get a cold treat this summer.

The Parlour serves ice cream, shakes and sundaes, as well as comfort food like hot dogs, burgers, fries, poutine, onion rings, donuts and even soups. Now, you won’t be able to get all that at one of their locations, with the shop calling their time at the spot “short & sweet” in a post on social media announcing its closing.

“THANK YOU for allowing us to serve you & share in your families’ memories for nearly 3 years. Truly. What. A. Ride,” reads the post.

“Unfortunately, we have made the tough decision to pass the torch & will not be renewing our lease.”

The post has many comments from people saying they will be missed and they’re sad to see The Parlour leaving the area, with one person commenting they wish they had a bit more notice.

The social media post continues, “This isn’t goodbye, it’s see ya on the Mountain! Our Concession Street location is still very much open (& happy to honour any gift cards or coupons), so pop by for a scoop any time!”

The last day for The Parlour’s Ottawa Street location was May 26.
