Toronto has lots of patisseries, but a new one is impressing people with a fancy rotating gelato display case.

Gelato isn’t all Louis BonBon does, though. They also have all kinds of exquisitely detailed pastry creations, as well as toasts, acai bowls, wraps, sandwiches, salads and coffees.

When it comes to those fancy pastries, there’s the Black Forest 2.0 with Morello Cherry jelly, chocolate sponge and dark chocolate creme anglaise, decorated with fresh cherries and gold leaf. They also have the Tropical Delight, made with coconut dacquoise, vanilla sponge and passion fruit rum coconut mousse, finished with plain sable, passion fruit seeds and a tuile leaf. The Peach Champagne combines red velvet cake with peach compote and a touch of champagne.

The “salon de thé” is inspired by the essence of King Louis combined with modernity. The small but elegant spot does have some space to sit and eat or drink a hot beverage. The star attraction of the cafe is their spinning gelato case, which holds 12 different flavours.

When it comes to other food and drink at the cafe, expect options like tiramisu, ube lattes, macarons and croissants.

Louis BonBon is now open in the PATH at Royal Bank Plaza in Toronto, at 200 Bay Street near Union Station.
