A popular emo karaoke night is going international with their first ever tour north of the border with stops in Canada, including Toronto.

Emo Night Karaoke will be coming to Canada this summer, with stops in Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. The night features live karaoke where you can get up on stage and make your rockstar dreams a reality, screaming emo songs with a real band backing you up.

The backup band features members of Hotel Books, Freshman 15, Just Surrender, Weatherbox and Thieves and Villains, and they can play anything from a setlist of over 100 emo/pop punk songs. Of course, TVs display the lyrics to help you out, and the band members can support on backup vocals. Sign up is usually first come, first serve.

There are lots of options for songs by bands like My Chemical Romance, Paramore, Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, Avril Lavigne, No Doubt, Yellowcard and Evanescence.

When Emo Night Karaoke posted on Instagram that they’d be coming to Canada, they got a very positive response. People wrote comments like “I’ve been practicing in the shower everyday for so many years just for this moment,” “This is what I’ve been training for” and “Omg so fun!!”

There were also many other comments from emo fans in other parts of Canada pleading for a visit to their city, with people requesting Emo Night Karaoke visit Edmonton, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

For now, they’re coming to Turbo Haus in Montreal on June 13, Sneaky Dee’s in Toronto on June 14 and Brass Monkey in Ottawa on June 15. Tickets start around $25 and are available now.
